Ubuntu: The way forward

February 24, 2025

From history and still up to date we see how other races/people conquer(ed) others and we are tempted to point fingers and act as victim. However, in this world, You are either a prey or a predator.
If they could succeed in conquering us, then maybe we should study their strategy and work on our loop holes to avoid further forms of invasion.

Many other communities in the world have cracked the code of Ubuntu. Togetherness. Fargin. In order for a group of people to succeed they must be united towards a common goal. The growth of their community. Mind you I didn’t say they must all be the same. It is okay to be of different religion, tribe, language, educational background, status etc as long as the goal or target of everyone in the circle is the same.

This is about getting everyone dedicated to the mission of the group at all cost. They pledge allegiance to what is beneficial to everyone as a people. Even if it means going without certain foreign products or services and patronizing the locally made replacements no matter the quality and price. They celebrate each others success and don’t see it as a hindrance, but a ladder to achieve theirs. They recognize the talents and potentials in their communities and help them. They give each other feedbacks so as to keep improving and getting better. They refuse to patronize any other brand above their own.

On the other hand, Black people are the biggest retailers/consumers of foreign brands. Infact many gain their sense of self worth from purchasing from certain big names and showing off. Many don’t believe that their local brands are worth patronizing in order to keep up with “trend”.
We have become addicted to competition and think there is only one ladder and spot to success without seeing how big the field is for all of us to succeed and climb in different aspects.
We encourage online feuds between our talented people. We even go on the media and degrade our own country to foreigners and make a fool of ourselves. Some people use that as their main strategy to earn money online and gain fame. We only unite to bring someone down or to rip someone off. We refuse to buy local. Then we sit and blame politicians and foreigners for 100% of our problems.

If we are going to be part of the economic push in our country, we need to play our parts with the right mentality, love and trust towards each other and culture. Everyone bringing some sort of value to the community and working together without envy, selfishness and jealousy. See it as your responsibility to play your role. YOU PLAY A GREAT ROLE in whatever happens in your country.

As you read this, please don’t think this message is for someone else, it is for you and I. We are at fault in one way or the other. It’s hard to acknowledge our own mess but it’s there.
No one is coming to save us. Everyone is coming for their own share of what’s ours. They don’t mind taking until there is nothing left for our future generation to call theirs.
So let’s stop wasting time and be deliberate in supporting our local businesses and give them grace while they rise. Be humble to ask your people for opportunities. Stop rewarding division and start promoting collaboration. Invest in each other. Be happy to see each other win. Let’s create a better structure for the future generation. Let’s make each other wealthy. The sacrifice will be worth it. The time is now. The revolution has begun.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
